Conference Venue

The INQA 2026 conference will take place in Bled, Slovenia, at the Hotel Kompas Bled, situated on a small hill right in the heart of Bled. Built in the original Alpine style, it blends harmoniously with the natural environment, which is characterised by high plateaus and the peaks of the Julian Alps. Its unique location offers visitors unforgettable views across Lake Bled and the castle. The story of the hotel reaches back to year 1951, when a small but nonetheless propulsive tourist and transport agency Putnik was established, which later took on the name Kompas it still bears to present day. In the 80s, Kompas developed into one of the largest tourist agencies in the world. Its offices were spread throughout Slovenia as well as former Yugoslavia and in several border crossings with the neighbouring countries.

Accommodation

On-site housing includes 70 double rooms with the rate EUR 130 per night + 4,13 per person per night. The price includes breakfast, free Wi-Fi, unlimited access to the internal pool and massage pool, and fitness. To book a room, write an email to reservations@kompas-lovec.com. It is possible to share a room with another participant and split the costs. If you don’t know anyone who would also like to share a room, write your room-sharing preferences to the abovementioned email.

Several other hotels are available in Bled. Participants who wish to stay in a hotel are responsible for arranging their own reservations directly.

Meals

• Breakfast is included in the accommodation cost if you choose to stay at the conference venue.
• Lunch is provided at the conference venue and included in the registration fee.
• Dinner is self-organised by participants.

Transportation to Bled

Arrival by Air

• Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) is the closest arrival point (30 mins).
• Trieste airport (TRS) is the second closest arrival point (1 h 45 mins)
• Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) is the third closest arrival point (2 h).
• Venice (VCE) and Treviso (TSF) airports are the fourth closest arrival points (3 h).
• Vienna Airport (VIE) is not recommended due to long driving times (4,5 h).

Shuttle Service

• Shared shuttle service to and from the airport by the provider GoOpti are reccommended.

• Train: there is a train station near Bled at Lesce, which is 10 mins from Bled by public bus

Practical Information

• Currency: Euro (€) only.
• Power plugs: Europlug standard, 220V.
• Health insurance: EHIC card allows EU citizens to access medical care at reduced cost.
• Climate: Expect temperatures between 6–16°C; bring warm clothes and follow the weather forecast.
• Internet: WiFi is available at the venue.
